As I promised, the instructions to making this large fall rosette. It is great to hang on the front door on just on your wall.

Materials needed:
2	12x12 solid sheets of paper (same color)
1	12x12 patterned paper
5	large scallop circles 4 ½ inches color of your choice
1	Die-Cut or other large embellishment to go in the center

Optional:
Paper edger punch or patterned scissors
Score board
Distress ink
Tulle

1: Score all 3 papers at each ½ inch. Your score line will run the full length of your paper. You will end up with 23 score lines.

Tip: Score every other line. So score at the ½ inch mark first. Then turn your paper over and score at the inch marks. This will make your paper easier to fold.

2> When cutting you want to cut them so the scored lines are horizontal. Cut both scored 12x12 solid sheets at 6 inches. Making them 6x12.

3> If you want a fancy edge on your larger rosette, this is where you would cut or punch one side of each strip.

4> When cutting you want to cut them so the scored lines are horizontal. Cut the scored patterned paper to make 3 3x12 strips.

5> Now you are going to accordion fold each of your strips.

6> You are going to use all 4 solid strips for the larger rosette and all 3 patterned strips for the smaller rosette.

7> Just follow this link How to Make Rosettes by Jennifer Priest to build your rosettes. Jennifer scores her rosettes at every ¼ inch. For a larger project, the folds at every ½ inch works just as great. We are also going to use the large scalloped circle to sandwich the rosette between two circles before gluing to help keep it flat. One large scalloped on top and one on bottom of each rosette.

8> Next you can ink the rosettes if you would like.

9> If you are placing tulle between the larger and smaller rosette, you would glue it down now. I used 2 colors. I cut strips the length I wanted and glued them to the front of the larger rosette on the scalloped circle. My tulle went all the way around the rosette.

10> After the tulle is glued, glue the last scalloped circle on top or the glued tulle.

11> Glue the smaller rosette on top of the larger rosette.

12> Adhere your die-cut or other large embellishment on top of the scalloped circle of the smaller rosette.
I hope you enjoyed making this project.
Bridget

Do you sometimes just need a little extra POW on your holiday table? Why not get out your scrapbooking supplies and make them yourself?
All you need is some paper, adhesive, sticks/skewers, a container, floral foam and little star garland. I got my star garland from It's Party Time in Highland.

Directions:

1. First color the sticks or skewers. I choose to us Smooch Spray to give my sticks color and a little sparkle. Smooch spray worked great, but you can use paint instead. Do this one first so the sticks are dry when you need them.

2. The next thing you want to create is the rosettes. These are simple to create if you have a score board or score pal. Just follow the directions on this video to create your rosettes. It is O.K. to use a hot glue gun on these; they are not going into your scrapbook. If you decide that you want to make ones to use in your scrapbook, just make sure your acid free adhesive.
You will notice that I layered different sizes to create the largest rosette. It takes two 3x12 strips together to create the largest rosette. The next largest is one and a half 2 1/2x12 strips. The smaller ones are one 1 1/2x12 strips.
If you notice, I glued some of the star garland between the 2 largest rosettes. I just used my hot glue gun to adhere the star between.

3. Next using a hot glue gun or your favorite wet adhesive, adhere the 2 largest rosettes together making it on rosette. Then adhere each rosette to a stick or skewer. Since this is a center piece and people may see the back; I just punched a scallop circle out of matching paper and covered the stick on the back side also. This just gives the center piece a finished looked from all sides.

4. Place the floral foam in your container. Push the rosettes on the skewers into the foam. Arrange the way you like.

5. Use 1/2 inch paper strips to cover the foam or purchase shredded paper at your local party store.

Just follow the link here to get inspired by their takes of this sketch.

I decided on Saturday to make a layout for this sketch. So, I dug in my stash and found this older line of BoBunny papers and embellishments. I used the Paradise line.
The pictures are from our trip in 2009 to Florida. The saying I decide to use for these pictures is "Don't grow up to quickly, lest you forget how much you love the beach." I thought this was so fitting for these photos of the girls. Although it has only been 2 years, they all have grown so much in that time. I never want them or me to forget the great time we had on that trip.

Just a little trick> To print the saying out on matching paper I used my blue tape and attached a scrap of matching paper to regular printer paper. I then ran both sheets together through the printer. Cut them apart. Sand the edges and adhere the strips down. :)

The papers and embellishments used were from My Mind's Eye Stella and Rose Hazel line. The border below the lace and the accent on the upper right corner are from a Stella and Rose frame. I just did some creative trimming. The flowers have brads in the center from the Hazel line as well. The flowers are Speedy Scrappers made and avalible at the store or for order.
The song I chose was "Good Life" by OneRepublic. This song is fastly becoming one of my favorites.
I love these photos of the kids. These were take at one of our photo shoots. I tend to love the candid ones just as much if not more than the posed shots. :)

Below is a video of "Good Life" if you would like to listen to the song that inspired this layout.

Cut the chipboard in 2 pieces. One at 8 inches x 8 inches and the other one at 5 ½ inches x 3 ½ inches.

2. Cut the base paper in the same sizes as the chipboards. Adhere both down.

3. Ink all the edges in a coordinating color.

4. Cut your photo mat 4 ¼ inches x 6 ¼ inches. Ink those edges as well. Adhere your photo.

5. Place your photo and embellishment on the 8x8 pieces. Adhere them down when you like the placement.

6. I made flowers out the matching paper. I then adhered one to the 8x8 hanging.

7. Now let’s work on the little piece of chipboard. I chose to use a transparency from My Mind’s Eye for the words on this chipboard.

8. I placed 2 more flowers I made to hold this piece down.

9. I placed ribbon to hold the smaller piece to the larger piece. I then punched holes and placed a ribbon on the top of the large piece to use it as a hanger.

Kits will be available at Speedy Scrappers.

During the month of October, I will be posting a different project of the week. Be sure to check back each week and see what they are. Please email or call me with any questions.
email> speedyscrappers@gmail.com
phone> 618-526-8500

This weeks project was a gift that me and the Speedy Scrappers Kids made for my nieces 2nd birthday.
Items Needed:

	A chipboard letter We used a 12 inch letter we cut from our die-cut machine. You can get one made at Speedy Scrappers or make one your self.
	3 different patterned papers
	Ink pad in a matching color

Steps:

1. Cover your letter with one of the patterned sheets. If you die-cutted the letter yourself, just repeat the cut on this paper. No die-cut machine, no worries. Just trace the letter on the back of your paper and then cut it out.

2. Adhere the paper to the letter. We used the Best Glue Ever to assure the paper had a good bond to the chipboard.

3. Take the 2nd sheet of patterned paper and cut flower out to make your flower accents. If you do not know how to make the flowers, just check out the web site for the directions or stop by the store for a quick lesson. Once the flowers are made, use Glue Dots to adhere 3 (2 large and 1 small) to the letter.

4. I used the last sheet of patterned paper to make the words. My sheet had the words already printed on it. If your sheet does not have words, you can stamp them or print them out. Our words are: cute, pretty, adorable, beautiful, and gorgeous.

5. Adhere these word on to the letter. I adhered mine on the back side and left them to hang off.

Enjoy.

Before

After

Just wanted to share with you an idea. I don't remember who figured this out, but THANK YOU.
You can use a few simple items to clean off your mats for your die-cut machine.
Item need:
>Dirty old mats
>Brake cleaner (can be purchased at most part stores.)
>A scrapper (I used a spackling blade because it was bigger than the tool I use to get items off my mats with)

The brake cleaner has a smell, so this is best done outside.
Also remember that you need to check your warranty of your machine before you do this as well. Some companies state that re-sticking your mats will void your warranty. Make an informed decision.
1. Just spray the brake cleaner on your mat.
2. Take the scrappers and scrap off the old adhesive. I have used many different adhesives to re-sticky my mats. The brake cleaner worked on them all.
Now they are ready to use the adhesive of your choice to make them sticky again.
I will also share another tip, clean them each time before you reapply adhesive. This will make the whole process go fast. Don't fret, the brake cleaner will get the adhesive off if you have more than 1 layer. It just takes longer. I know some of mine were really bad :)
Hope this helps you out. Please post any question you might have.
Bridget

The SPEEDY SCRAPPERS family wishes goodness and great rewards to you and your family this New Year.
Just a quick note, I will be closed on Friday Jan 1st. I will reopen Sat. for normal hours.
I hope all of you had a great Christmas. We had a wonderful Christmas. The "Who Loves Max" book that was up here at the store was a hit. If you did not get a chance to see it, it was a board book made using Memory Mixer software. The book had pictures and named family members who loved Max. I hope to get pictures posted soon of the book. All the other gifts that were given out for our "Handmade Christmas” were also a hit.
Talk to you next year. :)
